Symptoms are suggestive of acute food-borne gastroenteritis/food poisoning. Most cases are self-limiting; unnecessary antibiotics should be avoided unless clinically indicated. For a detailed assessment and personalized advice, you may consult me through Practo.

First of all, you don't need to take O2 tablet just because of diarrhea due to suspected food poisoning. It won't help much and rather can lead to further complications like antibiotic resistance and/or antibiotic associated diarrhea. The mainstay of treatment is ORS.Try to drink it as much as possible after each loose stool episode.Try finishing 2 such packets in a day.It should resolve gradually.Avoid outside,  processed ,fast foods.Avoid spicy meals. Curd/yogurt helps. For abdominal cramps pain, can take tab drotin 40 mg whomever needed upto 3 times a day. Take tab Zinc acetate 50 mg once a day for 10-14 days.

Antibiotics and anti emetic (Medicine to stop vomiting)  and anti diarrheal medicines are not to be taken in food poisoning , vomiting and diarrhea are protective mechanism,
Next Steps
You can hydrate yourself with WHO ORS and zinc 20mg for 14 days
Health Tips
never take antibiotics by our own and pharmacy opinion, it can cause serious complications

If the diarrhoea was due to suspected food poisoning and you are otherwise stable, antibiotics are not routinely required in every case. Please don't continue O2H on your own or extend the course without medical advice. If O2H was specifically prescribed for you, follow the dose and duration given by the prescribing doctor rather than changing it yourself.
Next Steps
The main treatment is ORS and adequate fluids. Continue a light diet as tolerated and avoid alcohol, very oily/spicy foods and unnecessary anti-diarrhoeal medicines.
Health Tips
If you have blood in stools, high fever, severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration, or diarrhoea lasting >3 days, please consult a doctor promptly.

It is an antibiotic combination , so if you have already consulted with the doctor and he/she prescribed you the tablet for the food poisoning you can take it But if you have taken it on your own , kindly consult once online with our doctors or nearby clinic
Next Steps
And for diarrhea if still continuing , kindly consume ors powder mixed in 1 litre of water , but do not forget to take the consultation of any registered practitioner

You should take it twice a day. As far as this medicine is concerned, usually 3 days is good enough but this medicine alone may not be good enough. You have to take other supplementary treatment. Some patients may need IV Fluids and injectable antibiotics. So consultation with a General Physician is required.

O2H contains ofloxacin 100 mg + ornidazole 250 mg, which are antibiotics/antiprotozoal medicines. It should not be continued routinely for food poisoning without medical advice please contact to discuss further details.
Next Steps
ORS and adequate fluids to prevent dehydration.

it is an antibiotic combination and shouldn’t be self dosed without doctors advice please book a consultation so the need for antibiotics, dose and duration can be assessed safely.

O2H can help reduce loose stools, but it does not treat every cause of diarrhoea. Take it only as directed on the strip and avoid exceeding the stated dose. The most important treatment is frequent ORS to prevent dehydration. If you have blood in stools, high fever, severe pain, repeated vomiting or worsening weakness, seek medical care urgently.
Next Steps
Continue ORS after every loose stool and monitor urine output. If diarrhoea lasts beyond 48 hours or you feel weak, consult me on Practo or visit Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj for an examination and treatment plan.

Do not take O2H without a doctor's prescription. Most cases of food poisoning are self-limiting and do not require antibiotics. The duration depends on the suspected infection, severity of diarrhea, and your doctor's prescription. Don't increase the dose or extend the course on your own.
Next Steps
Take ORS frequently to prevent dehydration. Eat light, easily digestible food. Seek medical evaluation if you have blood in stools, high fever, severe abdominal pain, or persistent diarrhea.

The most common cause of acute gastroenteritis (food poisoning)is viral ,not bacterial. So self medicating with antibiotics is not the right approach.Antibiotics can worsen the loose stools by killing the good bacteria in your gut.Always do a stool culture before starting antibiotics if bacterial gastroenteritis is suspected.Kindly consult privately for detailed history and examination for further appropriate management
Next Steps
Replenish fluid lost by taking upto 200 ml of oral rehydration solution after every episode of loose stool. Cap.VIZYLAC 1 cap or a similarly dosed probiotic tablet twice a day for 3 days can be taken
Health Tips
Never take Tab.LOPERAMIDE if there is blood in stools Adequate hydration (2-3L/day) Soothing liquids like coconut water, plain water should be taken Avoid spicy and oily foods avoid acidic and citrus(lemon juice, orange) foods

Don’t self medicate with strong antibiotics for diarrhea without checking stools. If recommended by a doctor you can use it for 3 to 5 days depending on the severity.use ors and probiotics for mild diarrhea .Dose is twice daily for severe bacterial infection after food

Please avoid further self-dosing of O2H and arrange a clinical consultation for appropriate assessment. Seek prompt medical attention if there is significant dehydration, persistent vomiting, high fever, blood in stools, severe abdominal pain, or worsening/persistent diarrhea.
Health Tips
Take ORS frequently in small, repeated sips rather than drinking a large volume at once. • Aim to replace ongoing fluid losses, particularly after each loose stool. • Continue adequate intake of water, clear soups, rice water/coconut water, as tolerated. • If vomiting occurs, pause briefly and restart ORS slowly with small sips.

Generally you should not take antibiotics in the early phase for diarrhea as you don’t know it has been caused due to some infective etiology. You should take prebiotics probiotics to help with it.

Diarrhea from food poisoning usually settles within a few days with good hydration. The right strip count and duration for O2H should come from whoever prescribed or suggested it, not a fixed rule here.
Next Steps
Keep up fluids and ORS through the day, and see a doctor if it crosses three to four days or you notice blood, fever, or repeated vomiting.
Health Tips
Please don't extend the course on your own. Ongoing diarrhea past a few days needs an in-person check, not more of the same tablet.
