Hi.
CBT is a type of therapeutic approach that a therapist uses. It’s called Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Using CBT means the client will be asked to challenge their irrational or negative thoughts, which in turn leads to behaviour change, generally, there will be worksheets, and homework involved.
CBT can be used for most of the issues, however it is the therapist’s decision to use it.
A client usually won’t know what kind of the therapeutic approach their therapist is using. It is best not to try to guess, and just ask your therapist to explain what approach they will be using with you.
Health Tips
During the goal planning stages of therapy would be a good time to ask the therapist what kind of approach they would be using with you.
You could also ask them for reading materials on the same.
