Your pain could be due to bad posture. There is a mild swelling in the neck region. You should consult a Physiotherapist for complete assessment and treatment.

This is called a neck hump. This is usually because of bad posture. Sometimes there is also a fat deposit which gives a appearance of elevation. The last bone in our neck C7 vertebrae has the largest spinous process which when mal aligned gives appearance of a bony elevation. Pain in neck is indication of weak muscles and also mal alignment of neck.
Next Steps
Proper evaluation and management should be planned. Home plan including posture management and exercises to be continued for quite some time. Gradually this will reduce and so will your pain.
Health Tips
Right now hot fomentation or ice pack can be used to reduce pain. Simple range of motion pain free exercises can be done to relieve pain. Correct postures should be maintained.
