Augmentin 625

2017-03-10 14:33:14
I was prescribed augmentin 625 for tooth pain, 2 tabs per day for 3 days along with ketanov. Pain has restarted after the course & Doc is suggesting to continue the same prescription for 3 more days. Is it ok to continue?

Get an X-ray to evaluate the underlying cause of pain. A hyperactive pulp will need direct clinical intervention , antibiotics and painkillers just keep trouble at bay.

According to me, rather than taking medication you should get the problematic tooth treated for long term relief from pain. The medications will only give you temporary results. Augmentin can be taken twice a day for 5days and ketanov is the painkiller which can be taken as prescribed by doctors.
Next Steps
Visit your dentist to get the painful tooth treated.

Augmentin 625 is a antibiotic which is generally given for 5 days twice daily and ketanov is a pain killer which you can take as prescribed by your doctor . If you are having pain even after taking medication then you should get that tooth treated because medicines will provide you only temporary relief , for a permanent cure you have to get the tooth treated which is causing trouble.

Augmentin 625 is an antibiotic for any active infection arising from the tooth. It is usually prescribed for 5 days twice daily and the other medicine you have mentioned ketanov is for pain, you can continue this medication as prescribed by the doctor.
Next Steps
Take medication as prescribed and check with your dentist on a regular recall.
Health Tips
Pain medication can be taken at a time of need, just be cautious that you don't overdose or self prescribe.
