Hi
Since your ECG came out normal, it’s unlikely that your chest pain is due to a serious heart condition. However, persistent chest pain and breathing issues can still be caused by several factors, including anxiety, muscle tension, acid reflux (GERD), or costochondritis (inflammation of chest cartilage).
If you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks, chest tightness and shortness of breath can be common symptoms. In such cases, practicing deep breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness techniques can help. If your pain worsens after eating, it could be due to acid reflux, in which case dietary changes and antacids might provide relief. However, if your pain is severe, radiates to other areas, or worsens with physical activity, you should consult a doctor again for further tests like an echocardiogram, chest X-ray, or blood tests to rule out other conditions.
Since chronic stress and anxiety can trigger physical symptoms, therapy can help you manage underlying emotional distress that might be contributing to your discomfort.
