Emotional Regulation is the need of the hour in today's pressure-cooker society. It seems like we are all experiencing a lot of stress that is manifesting itself in anger, sadness, disappointment, anxiety, fear, etc. So, learning how to regulate your emotions is critical, to say the least.
Remember, anger is usually an emotion we feel in response to a secondary emotion (fear, hurt, intimidation, etc.), so it is important to know which underlying emotions drive you.
Here's what you can do to control your anger:
1) Walk out and remove yourself from the situation/confrontation and soothe yourself before introspecting WHY you're angry and what is it in the situation that provokes a response from you.
2) Try the EFT tapping technique or deep relaxation exercises when you're angry to calm yourself down and get out of that physiological state.
3) Channelize your anger into something productive--like exercise.
I'd recommend you seek counselling to learn more personalised anger-management skills catered to your situation and personality.
