It's important to recognise that our emotions can manifest physically, especially when we try to suppress them. Firstly, allow yourself to feel what you're feeling without judgment. Emotions have a way of coming out, even when we try to push them down. Writing down your feelings, even in a notes app, can help you process and understand what you're going through.
Additionally, practicing breathing exercises like deep breathing, box breathing, or the 4-7-8 technique can help calm your nervous system and alleviate some of the physical symptoms you're experiencing.
However, if the pain and heaviness persist, I strongly recommend reaching out to a therapist for support. Even short-term therapy can work wonders in helping you navigate through difficult emotional times and relieve physical symptoms that accompany them.
At Mind Sculpt, we offer online therapy sessions and have experience helping individuals manage emotional distress and its physical manifestations. Please feel free to reach out to me to schedule a session and get the support you need to heal and feel better.
