My one month 6 days old baby boy is crying during day and night and only sleeps 6 to 7 hrs per day totaly that too disturbed sleep of 30 mins to max 1 hour. He is having jaudince with the level of 16 and under phototherapy for one day. The jaundince level is 7 when we tested on his 23rd day. From the 2 week he starts crying both day and night and cannot able to sooth him with any techniques swadding, holdimg, rocking nothing works. While visited near by pedictric they gave colicaid and tummy soft drops nothing works on him. For past 2 weeks he only sleeps for 6 hrs in 24 hrs. During awaken period he only cries. This weight is increasing 400grams in 10 days and he pees more than 10 times in a day. Pacifier helps to sooth him just for few minutes. I am worry about his crying and sleeplessness. Read that 14 to 17 hrs sleep required for brain development but he is sleeping only 6 hrs. Is it affect his brain development? And what is the reason for his constant crying?

Good morning parent!
There are some very reassuring points in your history - baby is gaining weight adequately and jaundice level has come down significantly. It doesn’t look worrisome. Should go away in the next few weeks
Yes you are right that that the baby needs 15-17 hours of sleep. Keep following the manoeuvres you are trying - swaddling, rocking, taking out in the nature for sometime. singing to him, even white noise! They are helpful. Colicaid is safe too. Additionally, you can add ProGG sachet 1/2 twice daily or Darolac sachet 1/2 twice daily
Take care that the baby is not being overwhelmed by too much light and media / electronics around. Please keep away electronics from his room. Certain foods like spices, caffeine, nuts, citrus fruits, tomatoes, onions, chocolate in mother’s diet might be irritating the baby - so assuming that the baby is breastfed - please keep checking if any triggers are there
