Hi, consult a psychiatrist about medication. You can also talk to a psychologist and explain about your husbands condition. I know you are worried about your husband drinking too much and it is making you feel upset. You are also worried about your husband not agreeing to do consultation. You can consult a psychologist and explain about your husbands condition.
Hi it is unfortunate that you have to go thru all of this pain. However alcohol addiction is known to cause severe distress to family members and the addict is unable to help it. Also, Many times alcoholics are unable to understand that they require help. At such times you can look for a rehab facility and ask them to help you do an involuntary admission. However you will have to fill up a consent form to enable them to take your husband away. Once there he will be put on detox medicine and then the various therapies and programs of the rehab will continue.

Expecting a person suffering from a DISEASE called alcoholism (yes, it is a disease) is futile in most cases. I would suggest you to approach a psychiatrist, maybe even without him and explain the situation to the doctor. Most psychiatrists find ways to bring alcoholics to them without any prior personal appearance for consultation.
