Hello Dr. my husband got his lab test done recently. He got albumin/creatinine ratio like 72mcg/mg. Can you please let me know if this is an alarming health issue or it is normal ? What is the treatment for this issue? Thank you.

Get 24 hr urien protein estimation. Urine albumincreatinine ratio could vary due to the Urinary concentration and dilution. Also other medical issues needs to be discussed before the urine protein creatinine ratio can be evaluated.

Does your husband have a history of diabetes or hypertension.nornal cut off is said to be around 30mcg/mg which can vary with diet, protein intake, excercise and hydration so a single value of 72 is not significant by itself .it has to be confirmed two times preferably morning sample
