CLAUSTROPHOBIA : It's a fear of being in confined or enclosed spaces. You might feel anxious, restless, or panicky when you can't easily leave or when the space feels tight or airless PHYSICAL SENSATION : Even though you're not truly suffocating, your body can react with faster breathing, pounding heart, or sweating a result of your brain's fight or flight response PSYCHOLOGICAL TRIGGER : It doesn't always mean there's a deep psychological disorder; it can simply be a conditioned fear response that your brain learned to associate with tight space HOW TO TELL IT'S LIKELY CLAUSTROPHOBIA 1. Fear appears only or mostly in enclosed, poorly ventilated places. 2. You avoid or feel strong anxiety about such spaces. 3. You feel better immediately when you step outside or open a window
Next Steps
GRADUAL EXPOSURE : Spend short, controlled times in small rooms while practicing calm breathing deep breathing or grounding technique environmental changes keep window slightly open, use a fan, or ensure visible light
