AFI 19.6 cm
Is AFI 19.6 cm normal at 32 weeks? It is showing marginally increase in growth scan. If higher how can we reduce it. I am 32 weeks and have GDM.

It is fairly high. Do you have any symptoms? How are the baby movements? Diabetes is also associated with Polyhydramnios. Please consult your Gynaecologist for further action. The treatment of Polyhydramnios is generally unsatisfactory.

Gdm causes polyhydriomnios.. Keep good track and control of blood sugar levels... After 34 weeks, have weekly visit... Keep baby fetal kick count...

The blood sugar has to be monitored well and should see for any elevation You can't decrease the blood sugar by taking any pill

Your report may mention the centiles for AFI as per gestation. Increase in liquor can be due to gestational diabetes. Review your blood sugar control and try to maintain target blood sugars.

There is no way to reduce a high afi The reason is gestational diabetes Just Ensure your sugar levels are normal

In GDM there is risk of raised AFI..at 32weeks your AFI is absolutely normal. Keep blood glucose in control...and always keep track of your fetal kick count.
