My daughter who is 8 year old was asked to have a surgery done remove the enlarged adenoid. The doctor mentioned she has around 0.38 npa (airway passage) to breathe .
Her symptoms includes running nose . Watery discharge from nose . Frequent nose blockage , breathing difficulties . Mouth opened while sleeping and little snoring.
It all started with ear infection in the month of November and then in January she complained about ear pain and nose blockage. Doctor mentioned she had ear infection and turbides in nose are swollen . Treated for same . After a month again in March she complained about nose blockage . When X day was done, they reported as adenoid hypertrophy .
My request is if surgery can be avoided ? Any form of medicine be it Ayurveda or homeopathy . Anything that helps to avoid surgery and get some relief from this for my daughter . Please suggest , I stay in Bangalore . Need some doctor who could help us pls
Thank you!

Based of the symptoms that have been described above...it is best to go ahead with surgery. Adenoid hypertrophy in children tends to harbour a lot of infectious agents while lead to recurrent ear and throat infections. The snoring/repeated ear infections are all sequale of the adenoid hypertrophy. Such conditions affect the overall development of the child. Recent advances in Adenoid and Tonsil surgery such as Coblation adenoidectomy are very safe and help children having adenoid hypertrophy to a great extent. It will genuinely give your daughter a great amount of relief and she will feel much better after surgery.
Based on your daughter’s symptoms and airway narrowing, she likely has significant adenoid hypertrophy. If medical treatment hasn’t helped, surgery is often the safest and most effective option. It’s a routine procedure in children with excellent outcomes. I’d be happy to see her, review the reports and discuss all options—including non-surgical ones if possible. Feel free to consult me anytime.
1st of all in case of adenoid hypertrophy we give medication if patient responds well than their is no need of surgery, if medical treatment fails then their is need of surgery
