Acute Hepatitis
I am suffering from Acute Hepatitis A from last two months. It started off as jaundice with initial billirubin level of 11.7 but gradually increased to 41. My eyes, tongue palm and nails have turned yellow, pale stool and moderately dark urine with weight loss. Doctor suggested to take normal diet with high protein along with udiliv tablets. But still no visible improvement. pls help.

Agree with both dr bipin and sushma shah....u need to avoid protein diet because it causes load on the liver....so consume carbohydrate diet...it shd b bland ....avoid alcohol and smoke...continue udiliv and repeat liver function test every month...if bilirubin still continue the same then u need to consult a gastroenterologist and get an ultrasound whole abdomen done

Hello,
Take plenty of glucose at least 50 GMS per day. BENGALI RASOGULLA WITH SUGAR SYRUP 2+2in fifteen days.
Plenty of liquids like nimupani coconut water mosambi juice butter milk fresh curd.
Cut short oil tadka ghee., Take vegitarian bland diet. Rice SUGAR, rice curd, messed chapati MOONG DAL without TADKA, overcooked green vegetable. Citrus fruitlike orang NIMBU kiwi to be consumed. Sugar cane juice without ice. TREATMENT IS ok, but you need some liver tonic.

Hepatitis A can get treated within 2 weeks and symptoms are seen in some for upto 6 months, it will depend from person to person. Just make sure that you don't consume any alcohol or any medications other than those prescribed to you as medicines will affect the liver function. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and have a clean and healthy diet. Drink a minimum of 3 liters of water per day If the problem is persistent or worsening visit a gastroenetrologist at the earliest.
