I am 39 yrs. unmarried. I have pcod since year 2009. First few years I had medicine and after that made lifestyle changes and for last 10 yrs. my periods are regular.
But I am noticing that though my periods are regular and normal I am experiencing acidity sometimes just before period starts and sometimes just after periods end. This is happening for last few months. I am worried whether this is normal or not.

This is not a very serious concern related to pcos
No need to worry much
Here are some practical changes you can try to reduce acidity (acid reflux/heartburn)
If you have persistent or severe symptoms, do see a doctor for personalized advice.
Food & Eating Habits
Eat smaller meals: Large meals stretch the stomach and increase reflux.
Avoid trigger foods: Common ones include spicy or oily foods, citrus fruits, tomatoes, onions, garlic, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, and carbonated drinks.
Don’t lie down after eating: Stay upright for at least 2–3 hours.
Chew well & eat slowly: Helps digestion and lowers pressure in the stomach.
Lifestyle Changes
Maintain a healthy weight: Even a small reduction can ease pressure on the stomach.
Elevate the head of your bed: About 6–8 inches to prevent night-time reflux.
Avoid tight clothing: Especially around the waist.
Quit smoking & limit alcohol: Both weaken the lower esophageal sphincter.
Everyday Tips
Drink plenty of water, but sip—don’t gulp—during meals
Include alkaline or soothing foods like bananas, melons, oatmeal, or plain yogurt.
Ginger tea or a few fennel seeds may give mild relief.
When to Seek Medical Help
Symptoms more than twice a week
Difficulty swallowing, unintentional weight loss, or vomiting blood
Chest pain not clearly from acidity
