Acetabulam Surgery Age 33 Male
Hi I am Joel frm Hyderabad. I met with an accident during paragliding landing in Manali. I got fractures on the right side of the pelvic.I got admitted in AIIMS Delhi & operated in March. It's been 2 months since my operation was done. As of now i don't have any side effects except muscle pains. I was suggested to consult in Medicover as it is far to visit AIIMS Delhi. My consultation was over in Medicover Hyderabad, x-ray was taken and the ko doctor told me there is an improvement in bone growth but wait for 4 more weeks to start weight bearing walking. ( Currently I'm walking with 1 leg using a walker) I feel good because I'm able to move my right leg, lift it by myself while doing physiotherapy. Sometimes i feel discomfort near the stitches area. My question is will I get any bone pain when I walk with my second leg? Also when can I start planning for kids? When should I get the screws and plates removed? Please give me suggestions for a healthy life and maintain this injury

After u start walking with second leg ( after ur surgeon allows) there may be temporary pain / discomfort for few days. Later with exercises and physiotherapy , pain and discomfort will reduce. Planning kids - u have to wait for few more months atleast till u are comfortably walking and movements are complete. Removing pelvic plate and screw is not required unless it is infected or causing pain or re surgery. (The plates and screws can be left in pelvis for whole life without any complications)
Health Tips
exercises, nutritious food, sun light exposure, avoid high impact activities

Looking at the x ray, it appears that the fracture involved multiple segments of pelvis and acetabulum which has been nicely fixed with plates and screws. When was this x ray done. If you're comfortable, you can start walking non weight bearing with applying weight over the normal limb. You may feel a mild pain on the affected side when you start walking due to muscle stiffness and weakness.
Next Steps
You should a proper Physiotherapy session so that all the exercises are gradually started and increased step by step as per your convenience and comfort.. You can plan kids whenever you feel comfortable with your pain and walking. If there is no discomfort,  you can continue with plate and screws throughout your life. If at any point after 2 to 3 years, if you feel discomfort, implant removal may be planned.. but normally,  that is not required.
Health Tips
You should start with the exercises,  gradually you will feel better and comfortable and more confident once you start your routine work..
