Absent left nasal bone  double marker
Hi, I am 37 years old and 14 weeks pregnant, my NT scan is done in 12 week 4 days.Everything was  normal except absent/hypoplastic nasal bone. The doctor told me to do it again  @ 14 weeks in that everything is normal but the right nasal bone appears to measure 2.1 mm and left is absent / hypoplastic. The double marker test was low risk. The doctor suggested NIPT at 16 weeks. My question is can nasal bone grow in future? If the NIPT test report came at a low risk should I worry till the birth of this baby? Is this possible a double marker test report low risk and an NIPT test came High risk?

U should go for NIPT now. Nasal bone sometimes develop late, and hypolastic nasal bone sometimes appear by 18-20 weeks, would be visible on level 2 scan. By then u will have a better screening via NIPT.

I suppose you should go for the Quad test (Quadruple Marker Test) at  18 weeks and if that also shows High Risk then she should go for Amniocentesis. For more information you may consult with me on Practo.
