I have an abscessed tooth and the bump on my gum has a hole in it and is bleeding after brushing my teeth. Any idea why? Tonight it the first time it has bled but the bump appeared a few weeks ago maybe.

It must be a non vital teeth with peri apical abscess....it's generally painless....it has draining sinus from where pus and infected blood comes out... Please visit your Dentist it's time to treat it other wise it will be too late .
The bump can be an abscess formation due to an infected tooth. Normally in this condition there is no pain but it requires proper treatment or it will worsen.

There can be two reasons for this.
One the tooth has an infection at the root
Two there is infection in the gums.
If it's in the tooth only then you Ned to get a root canal done and if it's in gums then you need to see a gum specialist.
Either ways it should be treated to the earliest.
