Hand regard or staring at it's own hands is common is babies and starts from about 2 months onwards and is a normal part of development . That is how  babies develope  hand eye coordination . But at this age he should also be reaching out for brightly coloured objects and trying to pick them up with his palms . He should also be making good eye contact and should laugh or gurgle if spoken to and should make noises like ba ba ba . If he is not doing all this , you should see your paediatrician about it . If he is doing this , he is ok .
Next Steps
Note all the activities that he does . Interact with him making eye contact as much as possible .
Health Tips
Don't use mobile , tv or laptop to keep him engaged .
