9 month Baby refuses water
My baby doesn't drink water at all. After every meal it is a very tedious task to make the baby drink water. These days it increased alot. Even the milk consumption is a lot reduced however eats solid food well. Sipper, glass, bottle, dropper nothing worked for water. Pls suggest anything also specify how much water to be given per a day to formula fed 9 month old. How much ml milk to be given per a day Thanks

Hello, I understand your concern It’s very common for babies around 8–12 months to show less interest in water, especially if they are taking good solids and formula. As long as the baby is active, passing urine well, and eating normally, it’s usually not a concern. For a 9month baby, Around 60–120 ml/day is enough at this age. Water is only to complement solids, not the main source of hydration. Most hydration still comes from formula + watery foods.
Next Steps
Offer 1–2 sips after meals, not full cups. Use open cup training Offer water slightly warm or room temperature. Add water-rich foods: Stew vegetables, Soups, Rasam water, Fruits like watermelon, oranges (if tolerated) Don’t force-feed or chase the baby with water. Don’t mix water with sugar/juices. Don’t worry if baby refuses water some days — it fluctuates.
Health Tips
Red flags: Less than 5 wet diapers in 24 hours Very dry lips or dry tongue Lethargy Persistent vomiting/loose stools

9 months old baby develop likes / dislikes and ego.Growth also slow down.Breast milk contains 90 % water almost similar to water.Baby was taking solids so some babies may take total formula and milk to 500- 600 mL.If u giving 3 meals other than formula each feed go for 50-100ml water.at If taking less solids total intake may go for 700- 900 ml. Observe the baby at 9 months they ask water, lip snaking by seeing the water. etc.
