80% hearing impairment in left ear
My mother has 80% hearing impairment in left ear, she has bought the hearing aid as well but she complains that it is not working well. I want to get that checked and if required buy a new one.

1. Speech discrimination score with and without hearing aids. If speech discrimination scores are poor, then there are chances that she may not hear properly from hearing aids also. In that case, you may have to start auditory training in consultation with your audiologist
2. Type of hearing instrument used
3. And most importantly, it should be fitted by an qualified audiologist.
4. What is the status of hearing in other ear? Because to understand properly,you would require intact hearing ability in both ears.
