Ear Itching and Mild Hearing Reduction
I’ve been experiencing mild to strong itching in both ears for a while. I suspect it might be due to earwax, but when I try to clean with earbuds, nothing really comes out. I’ve also noticed a slight decrease in my hearing ability compared to before. There’s no pain, discharge, or other major discomfort. Could you please advise what might be causing this and suggest the right treatment?

Hi. Your symptom could be due to your habit of ear probing itself. There are several issues with ear probing. 1. You are putting your ear at risk by removing the protective ear wax ( yes !!! Ear wax is a main protection for your ear ) 2. You might push the ear wax deep inside your ear that may end up causing a block. 3. Repeated ear probing causes many tiny injuries in the ear canal, that might cause repeated ear itching and infection ( it's a vicious cycle). So the key point is " Never probe your ear " ... Not even with soft cotton buds.
Next Steps
To find the actual cause of your reduction in hearing, kindly consult a nearby ENT surgeon.
Health Tips
Our ears have a self cleaning mechanism. So there is no need to probed it at all. Good day
