8 year old tonsills
My 8 year old was having cough for 3 days..doctor told that she has one big tonsills..now gave medicines for cough and said it's due to infection...if next time it occurs doctor we can do some test . I am really worried..will the tonsil shrink on its own ?

Yes tonsils can shrink on their own. Tonsils are important for protection of mouth and oral cavity. They should not be removed unless they completely block the passage. That can be decided by your pediatrician or ENT surgeon. Removing tonsils creates many problems. Please stop worrying just because tonsils appear a little large. Follow your pediatrician's advice.

Tonsils grow in size during acute infection and if treated properly will resolve back to normal. As per doctor take medications and get reviewed after 5 days
