6 months old not reaching for objects
Since birth, Baby has been active, feeding very well & overall is a happy baby. She follows the objects with her eyes, when we show her things, she gets excited and plays with them too, but just doesn't try to reach out for them consciously & has been moving right arm of hers vigorously when excited since about a week. She is rolling over to her left from back to tummy& pivoting on her tummy actively, grasps things when we give it to her & takes them to mouth, unintentionally grasps whatever is lying around her. During pregnancy I had some issue with the placenta hence the baby had IUGR. I delivered her at 37w1d via C Section as the Dopplers were deranged - CPRR & Fetal MCA had dropped. Baby cried immediately after birth. birth weight- 2.6kgs. Current weight- 7.5kg I am concerned if she has some sort of issue or is this all normal as everywhere it's mentioned that baby is supposed to be reaching for objects by now otherwise I need to visit her Neuro specialist Paediatrician.

There is no IUGR. She has appropriate weight for gestation at birth. Ideally she is borderline for a term gestational age as she also developed a bit of respiratory distress after birth - I can’t see what else was required since the notes posted are not complete but it appears that she settled without invasive intervention. So for her age the milestones achieved are quite appropriate and weight too has caught on well. She seems to be on track. What you are expecting should be achieved any day!
Next Steps
Follow these tips to help her still more: She would be babbling by now - imitate her and encourage her by replying with one words too, play with her in your language. Sing to her too Can show to her hard bound word books - can make sounds of the animals in the books Play peek a boo, simple hiding games of incomplete hiding of objects and pleasure of giving them again. Try toys of different colours and textures and also toys which make sounds on motion so that interest is generated, a kind of reward and joy of new discoveries with each action. Practice tummy time Can try sitting with support
Health Tips
Practice tummy time - lay the baby on her tummy after a diaper change, before a feed or at least an hour after feed. Baby should be awake at the time and be supervised. Start by 1 min at a time and gradually increase it as per tolerance
