"Headache, Eye Strain, and Blurry Vision
When I was 11 years old, I first got glasses. My left eye had -1.50 power with 6/12 vision, and my right eye had 6/6 vision with 0 power. The doctor told me to cover my good eye for 2 hours a day for 3 months, but it was very uncomfortable for me, so I only did it for about 1.5 months and then stopped. After that, I didn’t really have any problems. I didn’t get much headache, and for about 2 years I didn’t even wear my glasses properly — but I could still see quite well without them. Now I am 16, and whenever I look at books or read anything, I get headaches and a burning sensation in my eyes. I can’t focus on studying properly. After that, I started wearing my glasses regularly again, and after about a month my eyes felt better, and I could do everything normally. But now, after wearing glasses continuously for 4 months, for the last two or three days I am again getting the same problem — even though I’m wearing my glasses all the time. The headache is not going away

Hello, Noting your complaints, when you were 11 you had power in your left eye of -1.5 D and not in your right one, and for the same the ophthalmologist prescribed you power glasses for your left eye and advised you to cover it for some Duration in a day so that your right eye does not loose or reduce its ability to function equally to your left one, and if not done your right eye will always be the one performing and compensating for it. Once you had complaints of headche, blurrung vision and burning in eyes did you visit the ophthalmologist for a checkup or are you resusing the same prescription glasess from before? If you are reusing the same glasses without getting a new eyecheckup, it is highly possible for a change in your eye power that you are no longer comfortable with the same lens prescription in those glasses. As you already had a specific condition diagnosed at 11 years, it is necessary for you have a regular eye checkup atleast once every year or on the advise of your ophthalmologist whenever required. It is important for you to have these checkup as during this time period of your growth there is high possibility for your power to change, and this change in power should be monitored for, in what time duration it is happening. With your mentioned complaints this is the most likely possiblity, when you strain due to a blurry visin you get a headache and also birning senstaion in your eyes.
Next Steps
A visit to the ophthalmologist, with a detailed history take from you and an examination will provide you the exact diagnosis.
Health Tips
Do consult an ophthalmologist. - Try to rest your eyes while studying and having screen time after every 20 mins by focusing at a different site, away from your books or screen. - For the burning sensation you can try Eye Drop LUBREX or ECOTEARS- 2 drops one in each eye 4 to 5 times a day, but this will provide you relief for this symptomat, not correct your actual problem.

Get your eyes checked. The power must have changed for both the eyes. Also covering up the better eye would help in decreasing the headache. Feel free to consult for further clarification and better management.

Headache may have recurred due to change in power of vision. The spectacles currently using will not be sufficient and thus eye strain occurs which leads to head ache.
Next Steps
Recheck your vision. Ophthalmology consultation.

You are experiencing headaches, eye strain, and blurry vision likely because your glass power may have changed or your eyes are strained from prolonged near work. You can consult me on practo for better service. Get an updated eye checkup to confirm your current power. Take regular breaks from reading/screens (20-20-20 rule). Ensure proper lighting while studying. If symptoms persist, see an eye specialist to rule out other causes like dry eyes or eye muscle imbalance.
