Consulted Dr. N. Nanda Kumar (Oral And MaxilloFacial Surgeon)
I do not recommend the doctor
Hoped for better: Explanation of the health issueValue for money
1)Assistants who took dental x ray were very inexperienced and not properly trained. They struggled with the task and repeated the process thereby subjecting me to unnecessary exposure to harmful X rays
2) Though I told the Dr that I did scaling for my teeth only a month back, without explaining or informing properly, they did scaling again and charged me rs. 1500/_ If one more scaling was required, it should have been properly explained and my consent taken.
3)while the particulars of a new patient are obtained in a form, as soon as a new patient walks in., they want the patients to sign in a consent form, agreeing to all procedures etc., even before the patient meets the Dr. What is the need to sign a consent form even before patient meets the Dr and knows what exactly is to be done,?
Dr. N. Nanda Kumar replied
For the record this is an old patient of ours who underwent root canal treatment around 2010 she underwent oral prophylaxis a month ago in Bangalore she reported for a complaint of sensitivity of teeth and pain in the upper left back region for which an orthopantogram was taken and oral prophylaxis was advised for localised periodontitis in 26,27 region with generalised gingivitis as it had not been done completely the last visit with another dentist in Bangalore
1)For a consultation, orthopantogram Xray and oral prophylaxis including polishing 1500 was charged.
2)every practice is required to take patient consents for all procedures as per the law including consultations and nobody can be forced into any procedures without asking their consent which is what we follow
3)The X-ray technician took only one digital X-ray in separate x ray room which is lead sheeted no repeat Xrays where done.
