I met Mamtha when she was part of our wellness team in my organization. This was in the year 2007. I was highly disturbed after my divorce, and it reflected in my behaviour with others. I was recommended by a friend to go meet Mamtha who was “just downstairs “! My friend herself narrated her story of healing and Mamtha’s unfailing guidance. I decided to meet her, a decision for which I don’t know whom to thank-God, my friend who referred me to Mamtha or Mamtha herself!

I started my journey with Mamtha almost two years ago. I was dealing with stress, confusion, anger, and sadness w.r.t a career choice that I had made which started to disrupt my relationship with my parents. That’s how I started my journey, that’s what I thought was the reason for my struggle. Over a period of time, I uncovered a lot more traumatic incidents, learnt a little bit more about my childhood storylines, started to develop natural interest in psychology, adopted effective tools for communication and the journey has been progressing. Each day, I learn a little more about myself, I laugh at myself, I love myself and more importantly, I’m there for myself. I feel like I’ve more clarity and am consciously working towards creating a new self - one that is not just on autopilot or driven by unconscious stories, or trauma. I make a choice here. Although, I must say that my journey has also included daily meditation, self-introspection, an interest in spiritual matters, exercise, yoga, and a conscious effort to enhance my relationships around me (lots of empathy and compassion). The differentiating factor about Mamtha here (I’ve seen another one before), is that she makes me figure out things for myself. Her knowledge, suggestions and honesty in terms of to what extent she can help me, has built trust in the process. I feel very comfortable sharing things with her without feeling judged.

Happy with: Treatment satisfaction
Being a counselor myself, taking personal therapy from Ms Mamatha has been very helpful for building self awareness and enabling my personal growth. Her ability to provide empathetic listening and a safe space helps me to get in touch with myself at a much deeper level. At the end of every session she ensures I am feeling safe and okay to take care of myself, before closing the session, hence not being very rigid with timings (unlike counselors who are extremely particular on closing sessions at a specific time). The non judgmental space I got in her sessions for my sharing, reflections and the effective role plays, interventions helped me grow as a counselor myself. I would recommend Ms Mamatha's therapy sessions specially to Counselors who are doing their personal work along with seeing clients
