I visited Dr. Tanoy Bose at the Medica Superspeciality hospital in kolkata on December 7, 2021 for my wife's joint pains. Her pain and suffering was very serious, she was stretcher bound when she visited the doctor. Our life was completely crippled for the past two months as her illness intensified. She first felt pain in her left ankle in August, 2021. She was only 25 so I didn't expect it to be an arthritis. Even the first two orthopaedic surgeons whom we consulted opined that it is not arthritis and could be cured in few days of medication and the use of soft shoes. But it didn't happen and her suffering continues to worse. First she has to take the help of a stick to walk on the floor and then a wheel chair. I had to hire an aya to take care of my young wife. The third doctor we consulted Dr. Anirban Chatterjee (also in Medica hospital) was the first to suggest that it could be arthritis. He advised few blood tests to diagnose arthritis. Except CRP and ESR no other result was positive. But still on his advise we decided to consult a Rheumatologist. After reading reviews in Practo I decided that Dr. Tanoy Bose could be the best choice for her. And I am more than thankful for my decision now. He came like an angel in our life and poured his blessings. Just by doing few minutes of observation with her fingers and ankle joints he confidently diagnosed it to be a case of Rheumatoid Arthritis. He prescribed no exercise and no therapy, just few medicines. And that was enough to transform a bed ridden woman into a freely walking personality who can do a daily morning walk of over 4 kilometres in just under three months. In our next visit to him she walked into the doctor's chamber like a fully healthy woman. Every credit goes to the doctor for transforming our life and regaining our self confidence. No praise is enough for him. Kolkata should be proud to have such a doctor here who can treat a chronic and traumatic disease like arthritis confidently.

Excellent behaviour which helps to explain the issue. He listened carefully and geve us support. First time I have visited to do check up for my wife. We both are happy.

I was suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis and we had visited quite a few doctors of repute in Kolkata and I was put on Mithotrexates, HCQX, Saazo and Folvic . But there was no good relief of her pain. 3 months back my knee joint got swollen and was painful. But over last 3 months after consulting 3 doctors I was every time put on Steroid medicine and the same group of tablets by each doctor. I was almost feeling hopeless seeing my suffering.

I got to know this doctor from Practo and sought an appointment which was easy. After I visited him he examined my knee which was swollen and painful. There was a swelling just behind the knee joint too. He immediately did an Ultrasound of the knee in his clinic at Hiland Park and a big cyst was found probably baker's cyst. He showed the picture to my husband too and compared the picture of both the knees.

He drew some fluid from the cyst which was absolutely painless. After the fluid was removed approximately 7ml I got a significant relief of pain and swelling. He stopped Methotrexates and steroids and asked us to get the fluid examined. Only if the fluid showed that there is no infection he will again draw the rest of fluid and inject steroid in the joint. We are waiting for the reports.

What I want to highlight that in spite of such an advancement of the medical technology , there are reputed doctors who are yet to adapt the development. Other wise I would have been well diagnosed quite ahead of time.

Needless to say that we are extremely thankful to Dr. Bose. We came to him with lots of hope and he simply outscored other doctors by his excellent clinical approach. In fact none of the other doctors have ever found time to see my affected knee. He spent a complete one hour with us until the entire process of consultation and USG was completed.

I would always recommend him for Rheumatology issues.

I was suffering from generalised bodyache with severe pain over back of neck and hands. Whenever, I touched those parts I had severe pain. The life was totally doomed and since I was a frequent traveller, I needed a quick relief for this problem. I had consulted many physicians and orthopaediacians and every body prescribed pain killers with Calcium and Vitamin D. But, there was no permanent relief from this problem. Neither did anyone provide me with any diagnosis.

I travelled from Howrah to Hiland Park to meet this doctor and the consultation was readily available as it was prebboked. He suggested that I was suffering from a disorder called FIBROMYALGIA. It is a state of heightened pain sensitivity and per se it is not a disease at all. I was prescribed with Fluoxetine and Pregabalin along with high dose Paracetamol.

Now there are some points which really impressed me.

1. The prescription was printed and digital. The doctor had a copy of my prescription and he asked me to call anytime I want and he can trace my prescription out from his laptop.

2. The possibel side effects of the drugs were prescribed in the prescription too so that I can identify the culprit drug and communicate with the doctor accordingly

3. The behavior was extremely polite and he advocated internet research on the disease.

These features are lacking amongst most of the doctors in the city. I am sure that soon the medical tourism will change its direction from south wards to east ward.

I would strongly recommend Dr. Bose for all rheumatological and internal Medicines issues.

Hello everyone, like Naina my problem was exactly the same. But there was no solution. Also i have taken biologics (Simponi) but that also didn't worked. 4 months back my knee joint got swollen and it was painful like anything. Can't even walk for single second, it was too painful.. I was so depressed and don’t know what to do. Seriously, i tell you some doctors are horrible and money minded, they only treat for money. Iam extremely thankful to Dr. Bose, that he listened to me very carefully and he spent a complete one hour with me until the entire process of consultation and USG was completed. Till Date, iam fully statisfied with his consultation. The major point which I want to highlight i.e he always listen to patient’s problem carefully and then diagnosis according to that. For me, he did an exceptional job being a doctor. Iam surprised to see that before his treatment, none of the doctors been able to find out the reason of swelling in the knee.

I was hospitalised four times back-to-back since 25.09.15 due to various disease such as Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Tubercular Pleural Effusion, Hypoglycemia, Comorbidities, Idiopathic Parkinsonism, Medullary Nephrocalcinosis & SIADH.I'am 69 years old retired high school teacher in Physics.

I was under consultation of Dr.Tanoy Bose since 11.10.15 and have got substantial better result regarding my improvement.I am based out of Ranaghat in Nadia and have followed up periodically with the doctor regarding my timely check-up and giving him report over the mail.Dr. Tanoy Bose has helped me a lot in suggesting medicines promptly by referring my mail as I couldn't travel to Kolkata frequently.

This is the very first time I am writing a review for someone and this is because of the excellent treatment approach of Dr Tanoy Bose.He won't advise you unnecessary tests which is the main problem with most of the doctors around thus saving you extra bucks.More often than not we forget to ask some or the other points from the doctor during our visit and then regret or either have to visit again.This problem gets automatically resolved due to his availability on call and willingness to help.You can always contact him on his whatsapp no or even call him directly and he would be more than happy to help you.Now speaking about his expertise in Rheumatology and internal medicine, he has a good knowledge in these areas and can help you out really well.He is a very calm individual and patiently listens to the problems. I had contacted him for swelling in my left foot and am on his prescribed medicines for around two months. Although I have not recovered completely but there is very significant improvement in my condition. I would highly recommend him and would also suggest other users to start ahead and share their experiences that would help many other practo users just like it helped me.

I was suffering from Low back Pain for last 6 years which was extremely disabling early in the morning and I was almost completely immobile early in the morning but improved with exercise. I had consulted so many doctors but there was no sustainable cure.

Hi this is Rosemary and this review is for our only daughter aged 8 years who was suffering from multiple episodes of joint pains with fever and rash. We had consulted many pediatricians and orthopedics but she was prescribed Inj. PENDURE LA every month and there was no stopping of the disease. One of our family friends recommended about Dr. Bose and we did not mind travelling from SHILLONG to KOLKATA to meet this doctor.

Sasha [our daughter] was diagnosed with a disorder called JUVENILE IDIOPATHIC ARTHRITIS and we realised that we were completely misguided by the pendicure LA treatment whioch has got no relation with thsi disorder. 1. Too many phone calls from his patients during the consultation hours. In fact this point is a good point as he answers all the phones coming from his patients.
