Asha Speech And Hearing Clinic in collaboration with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) started cochlear implant program way back in 2000. We are the first in north India to implant with multi-channel cochlear implants. Since the time, more than 1000 children and adults have been implanted. To the date, the clinic has one of the largest and most comprehensive databases in the field, following patients for as long as 13 years. For the continuous up-gradation of the clinic, a separate floor is dedicated to provide rehabilitation services with CCTV administrative officer, latest equipment, one-to-one dedicated therapy session & good ambiance. Our team is well-trained to manage challenging cochlear implant recipients.Clinic having its international presence, have presented many research papers at various international conferences like Baltimore, Korea, Athens, Amsterdam, etc. The clinic specializes in the early diagnosis and early intervention, hence a universal neonatal hearing screening at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was started in 2000. We have performed surgeries on sinlings, twins, infants as well as elderly. We also have patients from international destinations like Mauritius, Amsterdam, Bangladesh. Most of our children have been mainstreamed in normal school and are excelling in academics. The implant may not be affordable for all families and for them clinic made efforts to collect funds and has provided the implants to three recipients so far.
