Visited Dr. Amitabha Ghosh (Laparoscopic Surgeon) For Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
Happy with: Doctor friendlinessExplanation of the health issueTreatment satisfactionValue for money
A doctor is expected to have the right knowledge and requisite skillsets , but mastering soft skills simultaneously is also an art. Dr. Amitabha Ghosh is a great combination of both.
After being referred by our dear friend about a month back, we visited Dr. Amitabha Ghosh inorder to consult and treat my daughter (aged 15 years) for multiple Gall Stones. On our very first visit we realised how friendly, approachable and a genuinely kindhearted person was Dr. Amitabha Ghosh. These are qualities which have become so rare today and hence experiencing such characteristic traits, that too from a busy Doctor who is also a Surgeon was indeed overwhelming and gratifying. He is a patient centric doctor.
At the end of the first consultation, Dr. Ghosh advised that sooner or later the way out to treat gall stone is a laparoscopic surgery also known as 'laparoscopic cholecystectomy'. Since my child was extremely scared after she learnt surgery is the only way out, Dr. Ghosh proactively eased out her fear and explained the entire process and made it look so simple. He took a pen and paper and explained us how the organs in the stomach look like, how the Gall bladder functions and why the surgery was needed.
Dr. Ghosh is not only compassionate but also understands the child psychology well which helped my daughter to win over the surgery with much ease and confidence. At the same time, he uses his wit and never gives any kind of tension or fear. Since our first visit and till today when we took our child for the first checkup post-surgery (after a week), Dr. Ghosh used to call me on his own inspite of his busy schedule to find out how my daughter has been doing and how she is recovering. He also spoke to our daughter to find out about her well-being and if she has any concern. Dr. Ghosh always responded to our phone calls or messages irrespective of his hectic schedule which brings great relief and gives us a feeling that we can always reach out to him in case we need his help or advise. Honestly, these gestures are rarely found today and that too from busy Doctors.
The surgery was flawless as Dr. Ghosh has a safe pair of hands, and it all went as planned on 30th Aug. On the day of discharge - 31st Aug, to our surprise Dr. Amitabha Ghosh presented my daughter with a big Cadbury chocolate Silk Bar when he came to visit her in the afternoon for a checkup and it made my daughter and us feel so touched. What a lovely gesture!
Post-surgery too, Dr. Ghosh stayed connected and always rendered help and assistance to any query we had, any concern that we raised happily and patiently as he spoke to us on the very first day.
In one line, we can proudly say that we experienced God through Dr. Amitabha Ghosh as he was His (God Almighty’s) own representative. We wish the society has more such Doctors and Humans like that of Dr. Ghosh.
We take this opportunity to thank Dr. Amitabha Ghosh once again for all that he has done and for his services. We wish him and his family the very best in life ahead. We will always remain indebted to Dr. Amitabha Ghosh and look forward to staying connected.
Best Regards,
Soumava Mukherjee

Visited Dr. Chanchal Goswami (Radiologist)
If anybody asks me or I am called upon by someone else that to say something about Dr. Sanjay Mondal, I would remain silent for a moment only. This is because, it is as if to show the ray of light to the Sun through the flame of my little lamp.
I have crossed my 66+ years of milestone and hence have gathered so many experiences through several observations and experiments and also my teaching profession as an Associate Professor of Calcutta University has helped me to belief the existence of God.
I never have seen God. But I have met Dr. Sanjay Mondal who is in my belief, the AVATAR of God. Now why I am saying so? There are several reasons and incidents which has compelled me to tell you the fact.
I have had three Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) in the first part of my duodenum, the largest one is measuring about 2 cm. After getting information through endoscopy of the fact, I consulted several Doctors of that related forum of different renowned hospitals and they used me as a ping-pong ball by referring me to the endoscopic surgeons and again to the GI surgeons for open surgery simultaneously.
Someone of the Doctors also explained me the situation as , I have entered into the cave of a tiger and as it is now sleeping, I am alive. When the tiger wakes up, it will kill me and eat me as well. Some said that it would be a very much risky and life-threatening operation and 30% patients die on the operation table as it needs whipple operation by cutting several organs inside the body.
One of the Doctors said that I have to pay him Rs. 6,34,000/- for that operation and for each visit Rs. 10,000/-in excess of hospital bills. Another Doctor demanded Rs. 80,000/- in cash for tax evasion exclusively for himself rather than hospital expenses.
It is the only Doctor, Mr. Sanjay Mondal who at my first visit give me assurance that the operation bears only 2% risky as in general operation and I must get rid off the situation at a cost of Rs. 3,50,000/- only inclusive of all.
My operation was done at AMRI Hospital, Salt lake on 1 st. February,2023 and I have to stay there for eight days in a Deluxe luxury Cabin with two attendants regularly and I came back to my home by a well-equipped Ambulance and everything costs me Rs. 4,00,000/- only.
Thanks to Dr. Mondal as I am completely fit now with no problem. And my recovery comes within one and half months as he has already forecasted before. His cordial behavior, sweet temperament and quick responsiveness enamor me. I never seen such experienced and manly behaved Doctor before, in my life.
I solely belief that Dr. Mondal is transmitted by the Almighty and so, he is the pars of God. A man as a Man. Hats off to Dr. Mondal. Be well and keep well.
Thank You.
Visited Dr. Bastab Ghosh (Urological Surgeon)
Happy with: Doctor friendlinessExplanation of the health issueTreatment satisfactionValue for moneyWait time
I recently underwent a nephroureterectomy as I was having gross hydronephrosis in the right kidney. My experience with Dr. Bastab Ghosh was nothing short of exceptional. Not only is he a highly skilled and competent surgeon, but he also possesses a level of care and compassion that goes beyond the call of duty. In this review, I want to express my deep gratitude to him for his extraordinary dedication and the genuine concern he showed during my entire medical journey.
From the moment I met him, he put me at ease with his warm smile and reassuring demeanor. He took the time to patiently explain the procedure, addressing all my concerns and doubts with utmost clarity. This willingness to communicate openly and honestly instilled a sense of trust, making me confident that I was in the best hands possible.
Throughout my pre-surgery preparations, he demonstrated a level of attentiveness that I had rarely experienced before in a healthcare professional. He consistently checked up on me, ensuring I was comfortable and understanding any changes in my health or emotions leading up to the surgery. His approach to patient care was holistic, recognizing that my mental well-being was just as crucial as the physical aspect of the procedure.
On the day of the nephrectomy, I was understandably anxious. However, his calming presence and encouraging words eased my nerves. The surgery was three and a half hours long, and it was a success. My recovery was smoother than I anticipated. The very evening of my surgery, he came to visit me. He asked me to get up and sit. He offered me a cup of hot tea as I was experiencing throat pain. What amazed me most was that he didn't just disappear after the operation. The very next day I was out of bed, and trust me, I couldn’t even realize that I had undergone such a major operation. He had conducted laparoscopy, and thus the pain was minimal due to the medication assigned by him. He continued to visit me regularly; he made calls to the nurses to ensure the status of my health and asked them to lend me support to walk. He monitored every inch of my progress and offered words of encouragement during my recovery process.
He took a genuine interest in my life beyond the confines of the hospital. My birthday fell on the day of the surgery. He didn't forget to wish me. He made it extra memorable by giving me a fresh lease on life. To make it even more wonderful, he handed me chocolate. He remembered details about my family and interests, and during our conversations, it felt like I was talking to a caring friend rather than a doctor. This level of personalized care made all the difference in my healing journey. He must be giving each patient this kind of meticulous attention, but it was amazing for me to receive part of it.
The entire medical team working with him was also incredible. They mirrored his compassion and professionalism, creating an environment that promoted healing and positivity.
In conclusion, I cannot thank Dr. Bastab Ghosh enough for his outstanding care during my nephrectomy. He is more than just a doctor; he is a true healer who goes above and beyond to ensure his patients' well-being. If you are seeking a skilled surgeon who also possesses an incredible level of empathy and compassion, look no further than him. He has not only impacted my life but undoubtedly touched the lives of countless others with his exceptional care.
Thank you, doctor, for being an exemplary physician and for making my journey to recovery a smoother and more comforting one. You are truly one of a kind.
May God BLESS YOU WITH ABUNDANCE AND EVERYTHING YOUR HEART WISHES FOR.
