* ***** *** ******** ***** **** ************** caring, attentive and friendly. His expertise in the science of surgery was evident from the day I met him upon being admitted in the hospital -- AMRI Dhakuria. He convincingly explained the reasons for which the surgery was required, outlined the actual procedure to be adopted for the surgery, and unfolded the process of recovery. After talking to him I felt assured that I had met the right doctor. On the actual day of the surgery he came to see me and generated a unique sense of confidence in me before I was taken to the Operation Theatre. After I gained consciousness upon the completion of the surgery, Dr.Ghosh was again by my side with his ever smiling and re-assuring face. Even after I returned home, he would ring every evening to find out how I was doing. This is certainly rare. I am happy that I have recovered within the time-period that Dr.Ghosh had stipulated. We need more doctors like Dr.Ghosh to impart a human as well as an efficient face to our public health system. I have now not only an excellent doctor to fall back upon, but I have also gained a new friend.

Well, this was my first ever OT and though people say gall stones are no big deal, I was still apprehensive before I could select my doctor and finally met Dr. Amitabha Ghosh.
I was obviously fussy about the process and was looking for literally "God" who meets the criteria of being smart, caring, energetic, experienced, very well read and well behaved, modern and sympathetic.... And I then I got somebody who meets all these!
From day 1, coming out of an OT to see his waiting OPD patient, Dr. Ghosh seemed a true professional and a wonderful human being.
And as the process began, from giving confidence, making it less fussy (with minimum tests and formalities), taking due care before going to the OT, putting the anaesthesia to healing the wounds and scars.. Dr. Ghosh has really been that God I was looking for in my first OT journey..
He would even listen and answer to all your speculations (read, scars & marks) and other queries very patiently.
The whole experience was wonderful, hardly scary or painful, with most modern techniques and healing has been fantastic, touchwood.
Dr. Ghosh lives up to his esteemed degrees and goodwill every time with his courtesy, gestures and the big smile which heals half the disease!!
Yes, in the city, there are still doctors whose hands you can hold!!
Ofcourse, if hospitals seem to be a problem, this doctor takes care of that too!
So, close your eyes and breathe relaxed! You are in the right and safe hands if you get him on board!

fully dedicated to his profession with a sharp clinical eye for diagnosis on the basis of clinical symptoms rather than extensive pathological tests. He has performed a prostatectomy operation on my 80 years old father.I was overwhealmed to his loyalty and sincearity when I took my father to him (after consultig at least half a dozen of doctors), He and he only convinced us with the proper scenario of the disease, the affected part, problems that might occure after surgery, time of recovery, chance of risk involved. He discussed the pros and cons of the disease and all the possible treatment options. Instead of dictating he asked us to choose the most suitable option for us (after understanding the details of every treatment option). I think this attitude helped the patient to be more involved in treatment. As a person he is no doubt very polite and humble. His post operative care is excellent. He is very open minded fellow and one can ask any doubts regarding the disease. Needless to say that, in our city, such a nice and competent Urosurgeon is rare.
Last but not the least he always gives a tremendous mental support of positivity towards not only to the patient but also to the patient family .....which according to me is the major USP of Dr Ghosh beyond his medical and surgical skills.
We,the commoner society people need doc s like YOU. Thank you doc.
