I have been seeing Dr. Prathap Addageethala for early lumbar and cervical spondylosis along with a slipped disc, and my experience has been extremely positive.
He is very friendly, patient, and approachable, which immediately made me feel comfortable. He takes the time to explain everything in great detail—my condition, the treatment plan, and what to expect—so I always feel informed and confident about the process. Since starting the treatment, I have noticed a significant improvement in my pain and overall mobility, and I genuinely feel better with each session. His professionalism, knowledge, and caring attitude truly stand out.
I am very grateful for the treatment and would highly recommend him to anyone dealing with similar spine or joint issues.

I have been visiting dr Prathap for three years and he has never failed to explain the condition and progress with every session and stage of the condition. He even tells you what you can do and what you shouldn’t do in terms of fitness/ sport activities. The treatment requires patience and maintenance and trust in the doctor.

I was struggling with my back from past 6 month.. I know I waited a long time which I regret when I visited Dr. Prathap. I would have been relieved from the pain and sufferings much earlier. The reason is that I didnot know him before. With the help of Practo finally I narrowed down my search and made the appointment.
When I visited him, he explained me the probabale cause of my discomfort and suggested me full spinal chord MRI.
As he suspected, It turned out to be disc bulging in the lower spinal chord (precisely in L4 and L5 region). According to Dr. Prathap my back was in bad condition which I could not agree more since I was not able to hold my self more than 10 minutes while walking and standing position. On top of that there were symptoms of my whole spine was too stiff.(common problem who sits in the offices for longer hours)
I have to tell you when I got my lower back spasm I was not able to get up for two days with the fact that I was an avid yoga practioner from the past 6 months. So anybody can get this I believe.
He suggested me to go with 20 sessions which involves chiropractic session of 15-20 minutes in the clinic and few exercises to do daily twice in home(not very intense but essential to make the strong lower back and pelvic area.It will not take more than 10-15 minutes)
The things which I liked about him is that he was friendly and convincing and he made me believe that current problem is mechanical and it will be corrected as it is. After suffering for so long time, you can understand how hard it would be to believe.
Anyway, earlier the sessions were thrice in week to make the recovery faster where he treated me with utmost care and immediately I felt the improvement. After 10 sessions I visited him once in week and after 15th sessions every alternate weeks. I could able to recover 60-80% in 10 sessions. I liked visiting the clinic and * **** *** **** *** ********* ****** I received in each session compelled me to visit the clinic for the next appointment.
Overall, with the suggested home exercises and chiropractic sessions in clinic, I can feel myself again 95% percent fit. I would not say 100% which would also a lot dependent on the home exercises and few tips he given to me while at work in the office.
I strongly recommend to consult Dr. Prathap when you are in such acute pain and you really want to come out of it without any complex medical treatment.
P.S. Take care of your spine! there is nothing more important than your spine which keeps you moving ahead ☺️.
Thanks doctor for pain relieveing sessions!😊

Visited For Back Pain TreatmentShoulder PainNeck Pain
I had been suffering from intense back, shoulder and neck pain for the last 10 months. I had trouble rotating and turning my neck, my left shoulder blade would sometimes become immobile and I would wake up with intense pain in my upper and middle back. These episodes were sporadic but would last for several weeks each time. I went to several physiotherapists - and underwent weeks of ultrasound therapy and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation). I also applied heat packs multiple times a day to my back. The relief was always temporary and the pain would come back within a few weeks.
A friend who had gone through a similar issue recommended Dr Prathap. I was a little sceptical at first about going to a chiropractor, but the excellent reviews on Practo convinced me to give it a try.
There are a couple of things which are important to me when dealing with a medical issue/ a doctor:
- How knowledgeable is the doctor?
- Is he/she able to get to the root of the problem?
- Is he/she respectful of my time (I'm a busy professional and hate having to wait)?
- Does the doctor do a good job of explaining the problem and following up with the correct treatment?
Dr Prathap checked all these boxes. He is very well trained and is able to articulate the problem and the solution with ease. He was thorough in his investigation and only then proceeded to work on my back. He was professional and courteous throughout the session and made me feel comfortable. The relief from the pain was instantaneous.
After the session he took me through a couple of simple exercises - exercises that I could do even at work while sitting - to relax and straighten my back (I was also emailed the exercise routine in the form of a pdf). He also set up a follow-up session to take me through a few extra exercises.
The best part - we were able to identify the problem! Temperatures drop in Bangalore significantly at night and for people who sleep on their sides under a ceiling fan - this could spell trouble. The muscles jam up and lock segments of the back bone. Since then I have made specific changes (thicker cover and slower fan speed) to counter this issue.
The exercises have also helped me in maintaining a proper posture. The pain has thankfully not resurfaced.
I want to highlight one other point. Most doctors take the patient's time for granted. And while there can be situations (medical emergencies, surgeries, etc) which are unavoidable, a lot of doctors make flimsy excuses for their lack of punctuality. For our second session Dr Prathap was running late by about ten minutes. He informed me about this delay well in advance via SMS. I have never seen this happen before. His respect for his patient's time is admirable. I wish more doctors made the effort to be punctual.
I would highly recommend Dr Prathap to anyone suffering from back, neck and shoulder pain issues.
