Dr. Sukumar Sura

Dr. Sukumar Sura has done his masters in general surgery from one of the oldest medical colleges in India (Stanley medical college and hospital Chennai 2002-2005). After completing his masters he worked as a senior resident in the department. of neurosurgery, Bombay hospital, under renowned neurosurgeons and also with the endovascular neurosurgeon. He also passed diplomate national board examinations in general surgery. He is Member of Royal College of Surgeons(MRCS) Edinburgh, which he cleared in 2005.He did his MCH in neurosurgery from one of the premier institutes in India (post graduate institute of medical education and research, Chandigarh) where he was specially trained in vascular neurosurgery and skull base surgery.Dr. Sukumar sura’s specialization include neurovascular surgery, skull base surgery, cranio-vertebral junction pathologies, brain tumors, trauma, epilepsy surgery and functional neurosurgery. He is also specialized in spine problems including spinal tumors, disc prolapse, and spinal instrumentation. He also specializes in minimally invasive spine and brain surgery using microscope and endoscopes. He also has been specially trained in percutaneous endoscopic lumbar and cervical disc surgeries (PELD and PEDC) both in India and abroad (wooridul spine centre, Seoul, south Korea) for lumbar and cervical disc prolapse. Dr. Sukumar Sura is associated with prestigious societies like a neurological society of India, neurosurgical society of India, neurovascular society of India, skull base society of India. He has published several scientific papers in national and international journals. Presently working as consultant neurosurgeon, star hospitals, Hyderabad.
