I consulted with Dr. Sameer for my mother's cataract surgery, the surgery was done in Artemis hospital, Gurgaon. I was alone with no guardian available with me, when my mother and I decided to get her surgery done and this decision making was possible only because we were so confident about Dr, Sameer. We had one or two meetings at his clinic before the surgery and with his detailed explanations and suggestions, we got trust in him.

Dr. Sameer is one of the kindest human beings, he patiently listens to his patients' problems and gives to the point advices, he also understand if you have economic issues, he suggested me some alternatives which is hard to find from anyone in the medical world. My mother and I were quite happy after her surgery, we did a couple of post surgery/routine visits and in all the visits, doctor helped us with his positive advices and sufficient time.

My mother and I still talk about Dr. Sameer's politeness, empathy and humility.

Although, we have moved to a different city but we still would like to catch a flight and see Dr. Sameer, that's how the trust we have in Dr.

I would suggest everyone who has ophthalmic issues to visit Dr. Sumit, you are in safe hands :)

I went to him i was hving reading difficulty blurred vision and headache severely he advised for lubricant and told to follow up after a week for cyclopegia of eye if problem persisted i did also gone for cyclopegia he did minor power changes and told u hve to adjust u might not get normal in new power keep both specs with u but on that specs i wore i wasted my money and problem went severely my head was bouncing like a basketball and previous problem toh persisted still **** **** ***** * ** ** ***** * *** ** **** *** ***** *** *** ******** ** *** he adviced me one ointment with lubricant much better in a month and in 2 months perfectly normal i am a mbbs student when vision is abnormal that pain cant be explained i kept on adjusting in new specs for weeks and by cyclopegia i couldn't see in book online classes 3 days much more severe than any dilation * *** ** **** ***** **** ** ****** * *********** ** ******* **** ***** ***** *** **** ***** ** **** ********

Dear ******, Thanks for the feedback. Every such response from a patient provides us a reason to go back to drawing board and find opportunities to improve. I also try to reach out to the concerned person, through this public forum, to provide an explanation or an apology. But since you are an MBBS student yourself, I feel u deserve a different kind of answer. As a doctor whenever patients present with their symptoms, the basic protocol involves a detailed clinical history --> reach a presumptive diagnosis --> diligent and relevant clinical examination --> make a working diagnosis keeping the differentials in mind ---> rule out signs of serious issues requiring immediate medical attention ---> relevant investigations or a therapeutic trial. In some cases it may be followed by a follow-up visit to gauge the success of therapeutic trial and if required make changes in working diagnosis and further investigations and treatment. The basic process remains the same whether I'm treating an eye problem or a bone one or for that matter any other problem in the body. And this is to be done keeping in mind established medical protocols and available scientific evidence. I believe any doctor who avoids shortcut and diligently follows this basic process is doing a decent job. But do I or any other medical practitioner expect to successfully cure all patients of all their illnesses if this approach is followed - no. Do I or any other medical practitioner expect to satisfy 100% of the patients 100% of the time - no. I'm sure some of my patients have to seek second opinion from other doctors as I receive patients from other doctors for my second opinion. I can't go into your medical details on this public forum but its unfortunate that u were not satisfied with the end result. But I would re-iterate that the process of cycloplegic refraction is an important and well established method to prescribe correct spectacle correction and prevent overcorrection due to accommodation spasm. It can hardly be called shortcut as it's time consuming for both patient and myself. My last suggestion - Please do keep a copy of this conversation and read it again after 10 years. I'm sure you'll be able to see this episode with a new perspective. Thanks again
