Being very true to myself, Dr.Vishal is worth being a psychiatrist. And he is worth all the positive reviews. In my review, I would like to include somethings that I have learnt from my experience and I hope that it would help others in making a wise decision.I went through the negative reviews and I can say that they are not very wrong but at the same time, I can assure that they aren't correct either. It's just a matter of point of view and mismatch of tunning. As a patient, after having been to hundreds of doctors earlier, we form a preconceived notion about the new doctor without actually visiting him. And just after the 1st meeting, we start to judge the rapport between us and the doctor. I believe that the field of psychiatry is very different from other fields of medicine. Psychiatry deals with a person and the underlying chemistry as a whole whereas other fields treat a person as a machine with a chemistry. So, building a rapport becomes much more important for a good treatment progress. I believe that just one or two meetings aren't sufficient enough to judge any doctor or anyone in person. I had made the same mistake in 2016. But then by September 2018, I again visited him after roaming around to a lot of other doctors, and today I can firmly say that Dr.Vishal is one of the most empathetic psychiatrist I have ever met. I have been to almost all possible reputed psychiatric hospitals in India and I know that the words of mine about Dr.Vishal mean a lot, but they are equally true as well. Usually 1st or 2nd meeting goes in history taking and problem assessment, and so on. It's usually the patient speaking to the doctor most of the time, and I think judging someone by just 1st or 2nd meeting is too early. Many a times, after 1st or 2nd meeting, we feel dissapointed because majorly it's in a monologue form. But then slowly and steadily, as and when you get to know the approach of the doctor, you start building a good rapport with him because by the 3rd meeting the dialogue pattern starts. I firmly believe that Dr.Vishal can be of a great help to thousands of patients like me out there, provided we give him some time and atleast a few meetings before making any declaration. 1st or 2nd meeting would be too early to judge someone because most of the time we are biased with our preconceived notions. With time and efforts, you get to know and understand the doctor and speak up what you don't like or feel uncomfortable about his treatment modality in terms of you and that's when you open up about your problems even more. It helps even the doctor to understand you better and fine tune the treatment modality and plan as per your need and thought patterns. And slowly and steadily you start observing changes.I would only suggest that, have patience and with any doctor(yes, any doctor), before stopping his/her treatment, just pay him/her atleast 3 visits before deciding whether to continue with the treatment or not. And try being very open about anything that you don't find comfortable, either it be related to the treatment methodology or whatever. This time in September, 2018 when I revisited Dr.Vishal after 2 years (for I knew that he is one of the most empathetic psychiatrist I had met earlier) I narrated the reason because of which I stopped visiting him. And it was then that he gave me his point of view on my narration, and after listening to him, I can assure you that, I felt that it wasn't a wise decision of mine to stop his treatment in 2016 without actually getting to know his point of view. It's always better to make an informed choice. Before making a choice, one should know other's point of view as well, else we may miss out on something/someone very important without even realising the importance.I hope, my words would help others make wise decisions, unlike me.I hope this feedback would of help to other patients roaming around throughout India in search of the right doctor.

I've been on medicines since 2002 and it has been a very tough journey. After seeing about 10-12 doctors including the government hospital doctor's for true opinion I was declared incurable and was asked to go for ECTs and that scared me to death.I was suggested Dr.Vishal by number of psychologists and finally I went to him few months back. I've never seen a doc who is so empathetic at the same time won't make any untrue promises. After 2-3 meetings we were able to get at the right combination of medicines and throughout this period which for any patient is very taxing emotionally and mentally sir was available on call and messages. Whatever could be sorted on a call he helped me and didn't ask me to visit for the sake of fees, this makes him different from most of the psychiatrists who be either unavailable on call or would require you to personally visit the clinic.he went through my old prescriptions thoroughly. my medical history and old prescriptions are like a big booklet sir read each one of them. I don't respond medicines really well most of them do not cause any effect and rest have bad reactions on my body like swelling, lathargy etc. I really can't explain what magical combination he gave that from a person who was disfunctional I became very organised and after years of struggle I've have a routine.few medicines that sir gave were never used by any of the previous doctors.the appointment system is very well organised and the staff who takes appointment and also connects to sir in case of query is very friendly.patients like us sometimes go over the board and call continuously, he handles very well.I can't thank him enough for bringing life to my dead soul. I am looking after my toddler like any other normal mother, handling my work and daily chores. Thank you Sir.
When it comes to write about Dr.Vishal Girotra that makes it compulsory for me to first of all thank GOD for making such good human beings serve the humanity as Doctor..yes he should be appreciated first for being an Angel like human being than as most understanding and supporting intelligent doctor..
Me and my father were in great trouble as my father was suffering from many psychiatric and neurological disorders simultaneously..and all the doctors in our town ( KARNAL haryana 125 kms from delhi ) had raised their hands to give any further treatments. According to them my father who was 75yrs old was not in a state to respond to any type of medicines..so I was told to bear whatever happens to him and keep him at home only...then one of my friends told me to visit Dr.Vishal Girotra in Delhi...and I did the same...Dr. Vishal told me that we shall put him on medicines with very low doses and he may respond positive to the treatment ...and thankfully my father started to respond the treatment in a very positive way...he could now chew his food on his own which he had forgotten out of dimentia and now he started swallowing his medicines the right way which he used to chew as food otherwise because of dimentia...
Dr.Vishal was with me always...in this fight against dementia...he was available at all times whenever I called him from home...that was a great great support for me...
I used to feel very helpless before getting in contact with Dr.Vishal ....though my father passed away because of uncurable and deadly disease dimentia...but I am thankful to Dr.Vishal with whom help I could make my father life less miserable...
Visited For Anxiety And Depression
My appointment started approximately 2 hour later than the scheduled time. The waiting was killing me, but I kept waiting patiently.
When I entered, 5-6 minutes after my conversation with the doctor, he wrote my prescription. He declared me to be a moderate case of anxiety. I felt that her did not try to understand me before giving the diagnosis.
Now comes the most disturbing part, when I asked about the medication and it's side-effects. He said that the medicine is: 'POISON.' It is habit-forming and addictive. And when he saw how terrified I was to hear this, he said that he was using "Satire." I got very confused about why would a trained practitioner play literary games with a patient in trouble? Then after saying this he started explaining me some medical jargon. When I appeared concerned and disturbed, he took the prescription sheet back angrily and said that he won't give medicine to someone who is so "Negative." (????????)
It deeply disturbs me to imagine that someone who is worshipped by so many for their sanity was so easily triggered. May be he was tired after a long day of nagging patients. But then, what can I as a patient who is ready to pay Rs 800 for 15 minutes do to deserve this kind of an experience?
Visited For Depression Treatment
It has been really very good with Doctor uncle, i have consulted him for my mother ,she was suffering from depression since last 15 years but since last 8 months she was not being able to feel better her condition wasn't improving and at that time my friend gave me uncle's references and its being 2 weeks now and my mother is feeling better.
The way Doctor Uncle explains every situation is unique in its own way by giving a lot of examples to make it easier for the person and his/her family to understand things more clearly. The most important thing for a person is to trust the doctor, to feel satisfied and to have that sense of belief that he/she will be fine soon and is in the right hands that level of comfort was being given by him. And another important thing which should be there in treating the depression patients is the Feedback from the patient's side to keep a track whether the medication is working in the right direction or if there is any scope for further changes which usually other doctors doesn't really work on they just give you a date for next visit and not ask for feedback till that date as there could a possibility to make changes in the medication in between in order to make the person feel relieved asap but doctor uncle(Dr.Vishal Girotra)was available whenever you wanted to talk to him to dicuss the feedback of the patient,to make sure that the medicines are doing there work in the right direction.
I know it becomes very difficult and also creates a lot of confusion wether we should change the doctor or not, what if our problems will increase etc etc , i can also understand the pain which the person and his/her family goes through, but trust me friends i would just say one thing that just visit his place once just meet him once and you won't fear from depression anymore, he will transform all your negative thoughts into positive thoughts and he will held your hand and consoles you in manner just to make sure that you will get a sense of relief asap.
Please consult him guys and you will see the change in your loved ones life..
