One of my lower wisdom teeth has been aching for some time and I visited a dentist for the same. He advised that I get it removed and said that I should get the corresponding upper wisdom tooth removed as well. Is that advisable?

As man evolved from Ape to man, there were a lot of evolutionary changes. one of which is the reduction in size of the jaw. hence the wisdom teeth get impacted in the jaw and cause problems. on the removal of the first wisdom tooth, the opposite one over time migrates to fill the space and eventually starts to cause problems. that's why most dentists suggest getting both out in one go. It is the advice I give my patients as well.
