My mother aged 56 yrs recently I noticed some dull white patches on here face cheeks and forehead what kind of condition is this as she is worried much I attached the picture

• Most likely pityriasis (tinea) versicolor – superficial fungal infection
• Features supporting this: multiple small hypopigmented (dull white) macules with subtle scaling on face
• Not typical of vitiligo (as borders are not sharply depigmented)

• Color takes time to return even after fungus is treated (important reassurance)
• Avoid oily creams and heavy cosmetics
• Maintain good skin hygiene, keep skin dry
• Do not use steroid creams → can worsen condition
