Hi I'm a Thejeswar. I am a Medical and Hematooncologist. The treatment of leukoplakia typically depends on several factors, including the severity of the condition, the location of the patches, and individual patient characteristics. Here are some common approaches to leukoplakia treatment: 1. Monitoring and follow-up: In some cases, especially if the patches are small and not causing any symptoms, a healthcare professional may recommend regular monitoring and follow-up to observe any changes in the condition. 2. Lifestyle changes: Eliminating or reducing risk factors such as tobacco and alcohol use is essential, as these substances can worsen leukoplakia and increase the risk of progression to oral cancer. 3. Medications: Depending on the circumstances, topical medications or mouth rinses containing corticosteroids or retinoids may be prescribed to help reduce inflammation and promote healing. 4. Surgical intervention: If the leukoplakia patches are large, persistent, or show signs of dysplasia (precancerous changes), surgical removal may be recommended. This can involve various techniques, such as scalpel excision, laser surgery, or cryosurgery. It's important to consult a doctor, typically a dentist or ENT doctor for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan tailored to your specific situation. They can provide further guidance and recommend the most suitable treatment options for your case.

Stop all tobacco products , it will resolve by itself . But keep continued monitoring by a doctor , and if it’s increasing or any suspicious lesion get a biopsy done . Make sure that you consider any other symptoms also . Have you been smoking or using any other tobacco products? If you notice any other unusual symptoms please let me know . You could consult if you wish so , can explain to you in detail regarding necessary precautions and regular follow up needed .
