Deep TMS with advanced and latest imported machines like brainsway are new but evidence as if 5yrs suggest results are promising (57% approx). They also mean requiring lesser number of sessions (15-20) as opposed to the rTMS (25-30). Therefore you will find difference of opinions amongst professionals. It can be used as first line, additional and/ or last line treatment option. It is associated with minimal side effects or risks & is more expensive than medications

Hi, it’s usually not recommended as a first line therapy. Thankfully we have many medication options available now which can be used alone or in combination along with regular psychotherapy sessions from a licensed therapist. If everything fails, perhaps then we can consider rTMS.
Next Steps
Let your psychiatrist help you reach an informed decision on whether you should opt for rTMS at this point or not
