Deep TMS with advanced and latest imported machines like brainsway are new but evidence as if 5yrs suggest results are promising (57% approx). They also mean requiring lesser number of sessions (15-20) as opposed to the rTMS (25-30).
Therefore you will find difference of opinions amongst professionals.
It can be used as first line, additional and/ or last line treatment option. It is associated with minimal side effects or risks & is more expensive than medications

Hi, it’s usually not recommended as a first line therapy. Thankfully we have many medication options available now which can be used alone or in combination along with regular psychotherapy sessions from a licensed therapist. If everything fails, perhaps then we can consider rTMS.
