What's next if gel not respond as expect
Hi doctors, my wife is 39.4 weeks now. She was admitted for labour(on 5-6-2020). She didn't get any pain so far. On 5th night around 11PM they applied the gel to induce the labour. Seems there is no response from cervix. Then today (6-6-20) morning 5AM around they started giving trips. Actual due date is given is 9. So I'm confused, is it take some more time to open??. Or what could be the reason. Midwife are doing a good support. Anyway, we are following what midwife or gyne suggesting..just want to know the fact in this. Thanks for all your kind responses.

Hi, I think all is going on ok in the right direction. Gel has been applied to initiate labor and a drip has been given to start pains. Now watch on the onset of labor and fetal heart is monitored. If all goes well it will go into active labor and delver baby normally.

Allay your fears .you need not wait till E.D.D.        Term means from 37 completed weeks to 42 weeks 1.After addressing clinical parameters , pelvic assessment ,&fetal parameters only ,they have put the gel to induce labour .  2. Because of labour has started only they have started the drip to accelerate labour .         3.Both mother &Baby will be under constant supervision .
Next Steps
1. trust your gynaecologist .                                     2 .if any fetal heart variation occurs ,they will terminate &do LSCS .
Health Tips
Hope. for the best .be patient .
