What is the treatment for mental retardation
Mental retardation runs in my family. My 7-year old nephew was recently declared as mentally retarded. However, his problem is still at an early stage and doctors assured us that it can be treated to some extent. Can an expert of this field tell me what are the various treatments for mental retardation?

Mental retardation is not a dieasese ,but it is developmental delay .For example a 10 year boy may not be behaving age appropriate or he may not be intellectually functioning age appropriate.This should be assessed by a clinical psychologist to know the degree of retardation.Then the required intervention.Consult me or any clinical psychologist for further help and advice.
