Dear Sir I can imagine it must be a difficult time for your son and your family. The treatment of boderline personality disorder is a combination of medication and psychological therapy.it is best to have a problem based approach rather than a diagnosis based and to focus on the difficulties that your son is facing and how best to treat it. People who have boderline personality disorder are still able to do well in life with right treatment and support. As a parent, you can help by being supportive and Bob judgemental, letting your son know that you are there for him and encouraging him to seek professional help. Thanks Regards Dr Ankita Mishra
