there are basically 2 things that can be done; pharmacological or surgical/therapeutic.
Pharmacological means using mild pain killer or use of special tooth paste to cure the condition. this will work only if the causative agent is mild/temporary.
If the causative agent is not temporary (caries, TMD, periodontal issues etc) you need to seek treatment.
Only a visit to a dentist -visual and radiographic check up -will help determine what is the causative agent.
