Is spine surgery safe at the age of 74 or is there any other option as my dad can't walk continuously, he has to take rest after walking every 100 meters.

He probably has lumbar canal stenosis which usually has only surgical treatment option. He should undergo a PAC checkup which will ascertain if he can undergo surgery or not
