Vitamin d deficiency for acne
Hello doc, my cousin is having severe vitamin d deficiency. Her acne problem started in 2018 when the level was around 15(moderate deficiency)now the level is only 3 and she is having acne all her other tests are normal. Can vitamin d deficiency cause acne? All the acne medications work on her as spot treatment but it still keeps coming like pustular acne.

No... treatment of acne depends on the grade...Acne or  pimples... Due to hormonal changes..Oily skin causes it...Common in adolescent age...May occur in adults also.. Food like Oily foods, ice cream, chocolate and sweets increase it.. Treatment depends on the grade of pimples or acne..So, please  send photos by direct online consultation as it's a must to see which grade of pimples or acne for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

There are many causes for acne. Recent studies show that vitamin deficiency is not a cause of acne. Poor nutrition and overall health can cause acne. She has to consult a dermatologist, complete some tests and then I can evaluate her properly
