Viral fever- platelet count 37k
Emergency!! My father aged 53 is diagnosed by Viral fever 5 days back. 1st day the platelet count was 97k , second day 67 and today it’s 37k. He wasn’t hospitalised but he was put under fluids for 2 days for 2 bottles each day. There is no fever or weakness .. should I continue to keep at home admit him immediately?? Please kindly advise. Thank you very much in advance

Please run tests for Dengue and malaria on consultation with your local physician..Also pls do hospitalise him in view of the  low platelet count ( may need a transfusion if counts fall below 10k or if any hemorrhagic manifestations occur ) and for further management
