It will be very helpful if you can explain the first episode, especially how it started and how long it persisted before the next episode. Since, you mentioned one sided tinnitus it becomes important to know if you have experienced reduced hearing too? Accompanying hearing loss will require more investigations. Hypothyroidism is also known to contribute to some of the balance disorders. In nut shell, it is recommended that you get a thorough examination for your complaints. BPPV is managed with position manouvers and treated with Vestibular exercises. The symptoms gradually resolve over weeks (2-4 weeks). Betaserc is drug of choice for many balance disorders but its role is limited in BPPV.
Next Steps
Vestibular exercises. Vertigo workup and Audiometry as basic tests. Further investigations based on the results.
