Ventricular septal defect
My kid is 3 months old and he was having weight gain issue. Recently after taking echo we found there is a hole of 8mm in heart. The pediatrician told not to worry now and said it should close itself as he grows up or other surgery options can be made later on. Need some opinion on the same

He is having moderate size VSD. Some will close by 2 years of age. You have to take Pediatric cardiology opinion and should be under regular follow-up with ECHO for size and pressure variations. But if weight gain is not adequate and chest infections are occurring frequently immediately consult Pediatric cardiologist.
