It can be due to allergic dermatitis which might affect the inner mucosa lining of vagina, then it leads to microscopic cracks, redness, swelling and itching. It needs to be treated asap otherwise it may get complicated. It can be well addressed with counseling sessions and homeopathic medicine effectively and without any side effects. You need an expert Homeopathic physician who specialises in dermatology or skin issues.

I have been working as a Homeopathic doctor for the last 17 years of experience. You can contact me through an online appointment for further assistance.

From what you’ve described, your wife is not dealing with a simple “infection.” Recurrent swelling of the vaginal lips, redness, itching, and repeated small cuts for several months strongly suggest one of three possibilities: 1. Chronic Vulvovaginal Candidiasis (Repeated fungal infection) – Very common in women – Causes swelling, burning, itching, and fissures (cuts) 2. Contact Dermatitis / Allergic Reaction – Caused by sanitary pads, soaps, perfumes, lubricants, condoms, detergents – The swelling “coming and going” fits this pattern 3. Vulvar Dermatoses (Lichen simplex / lichen sclerosus) – These conditions cause itching and recurrent cracks – Needs proper examination to confirm If this has been happening since August 2024, it means the root cause was never addressed and she needs a structured evaluation now, not random creams or home remedies. Recommended Tests Ask her to get the following done: 1. Vaginal swab culture – fungal + bacterial 2. KOH mount for Candida 3. Urine routine 4. If required: Patch test for allergies 5. Blood sugar (FBS/PPBS) – recurrent fungal infection is common if sugars are high What she should start immediately (until reports come) Clotrimazole vaginal cream at night for 7–14 days Clotrimazole + betamethasone external cream twice daily for 5 days for cuts/itching Cetirizine 10 mg at night for itching Use only lukewarm water for washing, no soap, no intimate wash Switch to cotton underwear and avoid tight clothing But keep in mind: This is only temporary relief. Without identifying the real cause, the problem will keep coming back. Why you should take a direct consultation This condition needs proper guided treatment, sometimes 4 to 6 weeks and correction of triggers. Most couples repeat the same mistakes and the problem continues for months. If you want, I can personally guide you through a step-by-step treatment and monitor her improvement.
