As influenza virus is a serious illness and kids are at risk especially till 5 years of age, it is recommended at 6 months of age by Indian academy of Pediatrics and also World Health Organization. Why the Government has not added it is not clear. May be because of the cost of giving it free to all in India or other issues. Many such vaccines are first recommended by WHO and after a few years Government introduces it in Govt hospitals. The baby can catch the disease if it is taken later so please take it as soon as possible.
